On the second leg of the trip we stayed in Perigueux.  Wow, picturesque alleyways, a medieval quarter and cobblestone streets, take you back in time as you tour the city.

Perigueux is located in the Dordogne region of Southwestern France on the banks of the Isle River (L’Isle).  Many historical attractions to visit, canoeing on the river, or just strolling around the city, you will always find something new and interesting to visit.

We stayed in a very nice Airbnb on the third floor with a nice view of the Cathedrale (backside), but still nice.

Hours in France are very different than the USA.  Most places are closed on Sundays and many places are not open late.  If you do not buy something to eat or groceries, you could starve until places open up again.  Imagine a grocery store closed on Sunday?  Strange for us, but common in France.

I mention this because you will notice the streets are empty in most of my photos.  It was a Sunday when we walked through the streets, all the shops were closed.  It was actually quite nice, no traffic, no tourist, you can actually see the architecture.

We stopped in at the Cathedrale Saint-Front.  It felt weird to take photos, but apparently it is acceptable, so I took a few.  The interior of the Church is amazing.

I hope you enjoyed looking at a few photos.  May not be as exciting as engines, parts, and cylinder heads, but a nice distraction nonetheless.
