Remanufactured OEM Chevy 216 Inline-6 Short Block Engine rebuilt to manufacturers specifications. Affordable option to restore your engine. If your Stovebolt bottom end is tired and worn, this short block may be the answer to get you back on the road.

Some online sources show Casting listed as 42-47, many show 42-53.
We’ve seen it in models later than 47. Do your research to verify this is the correct block for you.

ENGINE: AS USED IN THIS ENGINE WARRANTY REFERS to the REMANUFACTURED ASSEMBLY (BASIC BLOCK, CYLINDER HEAD AND INTERNAL COMPONENTS) AS SUPPLIED by Valley Auto Parts and Engines (VAP), FROM DATE OF ORIGINAL SALES INVOICE.

Warranty: 6 Months/ 6K miles for Non-Commercial Use.
Commercial warranty is 6 months.

No Warranty on Track, Racing, Performance or Competition use.

The engine warranty covers block, heads, and all internals. Bolt-on accessories, wiring and sensors are not warranted.
Engine warranties are limited to manufacturing defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. We do not warranty any attached accessory parts, such as switches, sensors, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, wire harnesses, valve covers, brackets, flywheel etc.

We are not responsible for improper installation and or labor charges.
We do not assume towing, shipping, transportation, and car rental cost.
Make sure to inspect all parts/engine before signing for them on delivery.
No Refunds will be issued due to Shipping Damage or Broken Items if not reported within 48 Hours of Delivery

WARRANTY IS VOID REGARDLESS OF TIME OR MILEAGE UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

Improper Installation
Faulty cooling system, radiator, water pump, thermostat, etc.
Unit Runs Hot, Overheats
Operated without proper lubrication or cooling, regardless of reason.
Used for other than Factory intention
Altered or performance usage
Racing, Track, or Competition Use
Damage due to installation or influence of third party work, voids all warranty.

Freight is not paid under this warranty on any parts or engine claims.
Buyer is responsible for shipping costs.

Freight Shipping for Engines- Short Blocks or Long Blocks

  1. Local Pickup - Must make an Appointment
  2. Freight Shipping to your Residence, Business or Mechanic Shop.
    We need information to get an accurate shipping quote.
    a.  Is shipping address a Residence or Commercial Business?
    b.  Do you have a Forklift to unload the engine?
    c.  We need at least the Zip Code to get a price.
    d.  Is address Remote, House far from street?  Inform us.
    e.  Is a Delivery Appointment needed?
  3. Home Based Business is Rated as Residential.

Engines are strapped to a pallet.
International Shipping requires a plastic pallet and Certified plywood.  This is in addition to the shipping cost.

If you are Returning a Core, it must be Crated or Strapped to a pallet securely.
You can use the same crate or pallet we shipped to you.
Core Engines must be DRY, drained of all fluids. Otherwise the trucking company will charge you an additional Hazmat fee or they will refuse pickup if the crate leaks or starts leaking.

There is a shipping charge from us to you, and from you to us (core return- if applicable).

We need to know:
What is your Zip Code?
How much does it weigh?
What are the dimensions (LxWxH)
Is it crated on a Pallet? (This is stackable), usually cost less.
Is it strapped to a pallet, No crate? (Not stackable)
Do you have a forklift to load it?  If not Trucking companies charge for Liftgate Service.
Will it pick up from a Business or a Residence?

We recommend crating it on a pallet.  It prevents damage.
Use at least 2 Heavy Duty Straps to prevent it from sliding or moving around.
These are bouncing around in the back of Big Rigs, so they can get damaged.

Engine Core Charges

Engines are sold on an Exchange basis.

What is an Engine Core Charge?

A Core Charge Fee is a Pre-paid amount billed at the time of sale for your Old Engine (the Core) or Old Cylinder Head (the core) we take as an Exchange for the purchased item.
The amount charged varies with Make, Model, Year, and Engine Size.
Cost is in each Product Listing.

We must Inspect the current condition of your old engine or cylinder head for the Exchange of the Rebuilt Engine or Cylinder Head you are purchasing.  Credit given based on inspection results.
The Engine or Cylinder Head Core must be “Like-for-Like” (Make, Model, Size and Type), no junkyard cores will be accepted.

Core Charge is Refundable if Your engine or cylinder head is in Good Rebuildable Condition with All Engine Components intact.  No Missing, Damaged, Broken, or Cracked Components.

**** NOTE **** Engine Blocks with Bore .030 Oversized or more, will not receive Full Credit.
Really Oversized blocks are not accepted at all as an exchange.
Oversize means too many rebuilds, damage, or wear - may need Re-sleeving, this is not normal wear.

Example of a bad block or head:
Cracks/Welds in engine block or head, this is damage.
Visible Holes in Engine block or head, this is damage.
Missing Parts- Crank, Bearing Caps, Rods, Rod Caps, Cam, Timing Components, etc.
Missing Head parts- Cams, Valves, Springs, Seats, etc.
If it is Not in rebuildable condition or missing parts, there will NOT be a Refund. There may be a Partial Refund.
After inspection we will determine the amount to be Refunded/Credited back, Charges apply if any conditions above are present.

Assembled Cores Preferred.
Torn apart, they may be missing parts.
We have a harder time determining what is wrong if we cannot see it put together.

Your Responsibilities:
Your core must be marked to identify it as YOUR core.
Engines returned disassembled will Void our Core Policy and will be subject to Chargebacks, so send it in Assembled Condition.
Cores must be returned within 20 days of the delivery date to receive credit.
Cores must be Assembled and drained of all fluids, otherwise Hazmat charges will occur.

Core amount for this engine will be in the listing and also in the Short Description by the Price.

ENGINE CANCELLATION/RETURNS:

If you change your mind, decide not to continue, or cancel your Engine Order Purchase for any reason, once the order has been placed and Paid for/Deposit Made, and do not want us to complete your build.

You will incur a 25% shop fee for time, labor, resources, and materials.
Fee will be deducted from Refunded amount.
